A new chapter is about to open in the Versalles neighborhood as entrepreneur Kor’ Prieur Caille prepares to launch The Red Door, the neighborhood’s first gay bar and a major milestone for the growing LGBTQ+ presence beyond the city’s traditional nightlife zones. The bar (located at Hamburgo 156 C, Versalles) announced a soft opening week starting Sunday, March 22, 2026, and a Grand Opening on Friday, March 27, at 7 p.m.

The Puerto Vallarta Municipal Government, through the Department of Equity and Fight Against Inequality, has officially launched its call for the 2026 Diversity Council (Cabildo de la Diversidad). Local LGBTQ+ residents are invited to apply and help shape the city's future.

The City Council of Puerto Vallarta recently approved two significant actions in favor of human rights, inclusion, and the recognition of diversity within the municipality. Proposed by Councilman Luis Jesús Escoto Martínez, these initiatives are the result of advocacy by trans collectives and the organization MOVii México, comprised of activists from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Transsexual, Travestie, Intersex, Queer, and more (LGBTIQ+) community.

Local entrepreneur and LGBTQ+ community member Carlos Plascencia is entering a new chapter in his business career by formally announcing the closure of his venue, Aloha Bar, to launch a new concept titled "Malas Decisiones" (Bad Decisions). The bar will officially open its doors to the public on Thursday, March 19, 2026.

Local performer Jordon Carnegie is set to make his debut at Coco Cabaret (Fco. I. Madero 289, Zona Romántica) this April with "STARMAN," a curated tribute to the legendary English singer, songwriter and actor David Bowie. The production is scheduled for two exclusive performances on April 8 and April 22, 2026, at 5 p.m.

The Vallarta Institute of Culture, under the Municipal Government of Puerto Vallarta, will host the ninth edition of the "Dama Juana" Raicilla Festival at the Cuale Cultural Center (located at the northern tip of Cuale River Island in the city center). The event will run from Friday, March 13, to Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 2 to 9 p.m., bringing together 18 raicilla distilleries (tabernas) from across the region.

The renowned Mexican fashion designer Armando Mafud dazzled the Puerto Vallarta audience on the night of Wednesday, March 11, 2026, with "Iconografía Viva." This retrospective runway show, celebrating over 50 years of his work, took place at the 2.16 Contemporary art gallery (Constitución 325, Zona Romántica).

New York-based actor and comedian Jamie Brickhouse returns to the Art Vallarta Theater (Pilitas 213, Amapas, Romantic Zone) to present his acclaimed show, I Favor My Daddy: A Tale of Two Sissies. Making its Puerto Vallarta debut, the production will run on Fridays, March 13 and 20, and Saturdays, March 14 and 21, 2026, at 7 p.m.

More than 270 people attended the Gay+ Mixer at Awaysis Bar & Restaurant (located at Aquiles Serdán 625, Zona Romántica) on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. BOYS PV Cruising Bar, a new and bold nightlife destination is scheduled to open in Puerto Vallarta’s Zona Romántica on Saturday, March 14, at 7 p.m. The bar introduces a new concept to the local LGBTQ district, characterized by its specific architectural design and layout.

On the night of Sunday, March 8, 2026, Teatro Vallarta was filled with sequins, spectacular outfits, lip-sync performances, and fun during the 12th edition of the "What A Drag" competition. This annual event raises funds for Casa Esperanza—a shelter for vulnerable women—and this year featured a "Disco Night" theme.

On Saturday, March 7, 2026, Pier 2 of the Puerto Vallarta Maritime Terminal hosted VINOMA FEST 2026, a celebration of wine and gastronomy. The event brought together exhibitors featuring over 300 wine labels, which attendees could taste while enjoying live DJ sets.

On the afternoon of Friday, March 6, 2026, Biblioteca Los Mangos held its Annual Art Auction, the nonprofit’s most significant fundraising event of the year.

What A Drag, the iconic fundraiser for the Casa Esperanza shelter for women victims of domestic violence, will celebrate its 12th edition on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 8 p.m. at Teatro Vallarta. The event notably coincides with International Women’s Day.
