Local performer Jordon Carnegie is set to make his debut at Coco Cabaret (Fco. I. Madero 289, Zona Romántica) this April with “STARMAN,” a curated tribute to the legendary English singer, songwriter and actor David Bowie. The production is scheduled for two exclusive performances on April 8 and April 22, 2026, at 5 p.m.
Drawing inspiration from Bowie’s 1972 glam rock masterpiece, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust, the show utilizes live instrumentation, striking visuals, and archival narration to explore Bowie’s recurring themes of time and the human condition. Carnegie, widely recognized for his celebrated portrayal of Hedwig and the Angry Inch in both the U.S. and Mexico, aims to take the audience on a chronological journey through the artist’s transformative 50-year career.
Carnegie’s own career mirrors Bowie’s “chameleon” reputation. With over 25 years of experience, his credits range from musical theater roles like Leo Bloom in The Producers to the iconic Dr. Frank N’ Furter. “I never want to get stuck on one thing. I want to be known for my versatility,” Carnegie stated, noting that the challenge of shifting between genres, from punk rock to cabaret, is central to his craft as an actor.
About the Production
The show is self-produced and directed by Carnegie, who is also currently helming the Janis Joplin tribute, A Piece of My Heart, at the same venue on April 15 and 29, 2026, at 5 p.m. While Carnegie has performed at The Palm for four seasons, “STARMAN” marks his first headlining production at Coco Cabaret.
David Bowie remains one of the best-selling artists of all time, with 26 studio albums and over 140 million records sold worldwide.
