A weekend celebration of one of western Mexico’s most distinctive agave spirits returns to the heart of the city as the Vallarta Institute of Culture hosts the ninth annual “Dama Juana” Raicilla Festival at the Cuale Cultural Center.
From March 13–15, 18 from 2 to 9 p.m., raicilla producers from across the region will gather at the Cuale Cultural Center on the banks of the Cuale River (located at the northern tip of Cuale River Island) to offer tastings and showcase the heritage of the traditional spirit, while live performances of mariachi, banda, cumbia and boleros create a festive atmosphere celebrating the cultural identity of Puerto Vallarta and its surrounding communities.
The festival is a family-friendly event open to the public, celebrating the region’s cultural identity through numerous exhibition stands. Attendees can sample this traditional agave spirit while enjoying a festive atmosphere featuring live dance and music performances, including mariachi, banda, cumbia, boleros, and regional music.
