The Gay+ Mixers, a weekly gathering that has grown into one of the city’s largest recurring LGBTQ+ community events, returns for the 2026-2027 season with 36 mixers that include 15 new locations — and, for the first time in the event’s history, a presenting sponsor: Villa Tita & Casitas.
At each Gay+ Mixer, guests check in at the door and receive a name tag before heading inside. Host venues clear away their usual tables and chairs to open up space for mingling and to discourage people from clustering with the friends they came with – and low volume music so that participants can talk and network. Most businesses also offer happy hour pricing on drinks for the two-hour window, and some put out light food as well.
The Gay+ Mixers trace back to October 2021, when local business owner Jet De La Isla launched Jet’s Meet and Greet, an informal networking night for gay expats, locals and visitors. The first mixer was held Oct. 21, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. at La Catrina Cantina. The event quickly rebranded as Gay PV: Mixer. Everything You Must Know, and became a regular fixture, rotating through spots like La Catrina Cantina, Plaza Romy and Incanto Vallarta over its first two years while building its following through De La Isla’s Facebook group.
In 2023, Out & About PV partnered with that Facebook group — New Puerto Vallarta Gays: Everything Gay You Need or Want, also founded by De La Isla — and took over organizing the mixers. Since then, the event has kept growing: more than 7,000 people attended a Gay+ Mixer last season alone.

The 2026-2027 Season
The new season runs Sept. 29, 2026, through May 25, 2027, with the vast majority of mixers held Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. Most weeks bring a single Tuesday mixer, but the week of Jan. 26-28, 2027, gets two: Cheeky Pool Club on Tuesday and Puro Peru Restaurant on Thursday
The season opens Sept. 29, 2026, at Margarita Grill and closes May 25, 2027, with a Pride Mixer during Pride Week (venue to be announced). In between, presenting sponsor Villa Tita & Casitas also hosts its own night Nov. 17, 2026 — bringing its new role full circle as both backer and venue for the season it’s sponsoring.
