The renowned Mexican fashion designer Armando Mafud dazzled Puerto Vallarta on the night of Wednesday, March 11, 2026, with “Iconografía Viva.” This retrospective runway show, celebrating over 50 years of his work, took place at the 2.16 Contemporary art gallery (Constitución 325, Zona Romántica).
During the fashion show, attendees admired more than 50 garments created by Mafud in his signature style, which celebrates Mexico’s cultural richness and vibrant colors—a journey through Mexican identity expressed through textures, embroidery, and symbolism.

Among the attendees were prominent figures and cultural officials, including City Councilor Laurel Carrillo, Cultural Manager Lupita Basulto and the head of the Sexual Diversity Office, Carlos Plascencia. They were joined by local press, residents, and visitors who jumped at the chance to explore Mafud’s work and meet the designer in person.
Orlando Santamaria and Abrajam De Los Romero, owners of 2.16 Contemporary, expressed their enthusiasm and gratitude for hosting Mafud. Armando Mafud maintains a boutique in the city located at Venustiano Carranza 263, Colonia Emiliano Zapata. For more information about the designer, please visit his Facebook page.
