The moment you walk into Makal you know you’ve momentarily stepped out of the hustle and bustle of Zona Romantica and you’ve been transported into a space like no other in the area. Before you even step inside you notice it’s clean white exterior and large windows which give a glimpse into its colorful interior.

Of French Canadian origin, Dr. Odile Desage is the CEO of the Anamaya Medical and Dental Center in Puerto Vallarta. Anamaya, which means "free from all diseases", has the mission of providing a comprehensive and warm service to its patients. Dr. Odile arrived in Puerto Vallarta in '98 and when she fell in love with the city she decided to settle here.

One year ago, Dr. Omar Hernández started this project, Dr Puerto Vallarta, to provide high-quality medical service in Puerto Vallarta. Originally from Mexico City, he moved to Puerto Vallarta in 2016, when he started working at different resorts providing detailed oriented consultations in English.

Puerto Vallarta is a melting pot of cultures, styles, moods and grooves and it’s thanks to the eclectic variety of people that flock here. Alison Lo was drawn to PV due to its magnetism and her curiosity and is now a headlining artist in town.

Zona Romantica is known for its quaint Mexican feel but a new addition to its nightlife scene is bringing with it a more big city vibe in a warm friendly space we all already know.  Right off of Olas Altas on calle Rodolfo Gomez, ONE SIX ONE is opening its doors next weekend.  Inspired by the bars in Guadalajara, this bar will be pumping out vocal, classical and deep house music.

Recently, one of these cooler nights we’ve been having in Puerto Vallarta lately, I found myself wandering through the malecon area.  As I combed the streets looking at beautiful façades and finding spots I’d never seen before, or maybe hadn't seen at night.  My walk was in part fueled by wonder but also hunger.  Before I knew it I had walked up to the Cathedral which stood tall and powerful  under the night sky.  After taking a plethora of pictures, none of which did it justice, I turned around after hearing the sound of families gathered around a table.  With its open doors and windows I was able to see into a small restaurant, exactly across from where I stood.  Tables filled with families (mostly locals- always a great sign) either talking up a storm as they waited for their meals or dead silent once they had been served.   My friend asked If I knew the place and when I responded that I didn’t he said I was in for a treat, and boy was I. 

It would be an understatement to say that most tourist destinations worldwide have seen better days thanks to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, nevertheless Puerto Vallarta is bouncing back.  Important dates coming up such as easter break, spring break and Vallarta Pride week (recently announced to be taking place this year) means the city will have an influx of national and foreign visitors.  While this is good news for the local economy, local authorities worry that this could lead to a rise in Covid-19 cases.

The Vallarta Pride Organization announced earlier today that Vallarta Pride 2021 will be taking place this year, with the proper precautions, of course.

Luis Ochoa is a young entrepreneur whose search for the perfect beach life and work balance led him to Puerto Vallarta.  He has been living here for over two years and has officially started offering his Personal Assistant services to local and visiting clients. Ochoa, whose experience includes clients from various countries and different backgrounds, is excited to work in a community that is as diverse and as plentiful as Puerto Vallarta’s.  

New restrictions have been put into place for the upcoming Easter holidays/break in the state of Jalisco, including Puerto Vallarta.
