Any Barbie fans out there? If so, The Palm has just the show for you.

Broadway Barbie, performed by Sutton Lee Seymour, is thrilling crowds at The Palm Cabaret Theater.

Her show starts as she is dramatically whisked onto the stage, carried by two brilliantly clad Kens, performed by Carlos Camargo, and Sebastian Coronel, she begins what would be the first of many emotion packed songs of her own self produced extravaganza.

Looking stunning in a colorful party dress and a colossal bright blonde wig, Sutton belted out the lyrics, “I’m alive, suddenly I’m Barbie,” as the audience roared its approval.

After welcoming everyone to the “Bathhouse Barbie Show,” an informative question and answer period ensued, as Sutton made friends with a special blend of lighthearted humor. After inquiring where various vacationers were from, she then laughingly asked, “Where are all the throuples tonight.”

As the program continued in earnest, the powerful voice of Sutton shone through in song after enriching song.

One of the highlights, coming midway through the production, was a game entitled “Are you dumber than a Ken doll,” which was a fun filled game of trivia relating to all things Barbie. The audience was divided into two competing groups to take part in a friendly rivalry. We learned, amongst other things, that Barbie originally hails from Wisconsin, and that there was even a George Washington version of the famously iconic doll produced.

A powerful rendition of “This is Me”, originally sung by Keala Settle from The Greatest Showman was a high point, as the iconic lyrics, soulfully expressed, intoned “I am what I am, and this is me.”

In conversing with Sutton, she asked rhetorically, “Do you need to have seen the movie Barbie, or know a lot about Broadway to enjoy the show, no you don’t,” continuing, she stated “just come to the show, have a good time, and laugh with the stupidity I create, it’s my dream house, not Barbie’s.”

Concluding, Sutton stated with a smile, “I’ve always enjoyed knowing the things people love, and destroying them for their entertainment pleasure.”

Rounding out the evening, Sutton gave a heartfelt thank you to her wonderful audience for coming out on a Tuesday night in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Come soon to catch the incredibly entertaining production of Broadway Barbie at The Palm. Showtime begins at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, or at 9:30 p.m. on Friday. Tickets start at $756.77 pesos.
