For more than two decades, the shores of Puerto Vallarta have witnessed an incredible tradition of generosity and joy during the holiday season. The 22nd consecutive year of the toy giveaway, hosted in front of Blue Chairs Bar, Restaurant, and Hotel, continues to illuminate the spirit of Christmas for the children of the community.
What began humbly many years ago as a small initiative by David H Currier and Kevin Kalley has flourished into a heartwarming annual event. The essence of this tradition lies in the simple yet impactful act: children selecting their Christmas presents hanging from the swaying palm trees along the beach.
This cherished event has evolved over time, with the number of participating children growing substantially. Today, more than 300 children eagerly anticipate this special day, where they are embraced by the warmth of community and the delight of receiving a gift on Christmas morning.
At the helm of organizing this heartwarming affair are Nancy Plantz and Cheryl Nygaard, whose dedication and commitment have been instrumental in ensuring the success of this initiative year after year. Their unwavering efforts reflect the spirit of giving and kindness that defines the holiday season.
