Hurry – The Deadline to Register For Te cuido, Me cuido LGBT 2024 is July 26, 2024
Recently the call for the project “Te Cuido, Me Cuido LGBT 2024” was made, offering a free blended course for cities of Guadalajara, Tlalnepantla, CDMX and Puerto Vallarta.
This initiative, created by Conexión Positiva, a program by Traza Social A.C., and Circolo Social, aims to provide training in counseling on health, comprehensive care and rights of diverse people, with the aim of promoting empowerment and collective well-being for the LGBTIQ+ community.
The syllabus of “Te cuido, me cuido LGBT 2024” encompasses aspects such as sexual health and sexual rights, mental health care and crisis intervention, addictions and substance abuse, and comprehensive health for trans people; all of great relevance to the diverse community. Upon completing this course, attendees will become trained counselors prepared to act, intervene, and offer guidance in situations of need.
In Puerto Vallarta, this project will be implemented in collaboration with Vallarta Pride throughout 2024 with some reforms that include allocating support to projects that promote the well-being of the local community and/or that address LGBTIQ+ social problems that require attention.
The course is open to general public, with the only requirement to pre-registration, before July 26, 2024.
In Puerto Vallarta this training will be virtual and in-person, and it will take place virtually from July 30 to August 8, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. It will conclude with an on-site session by the Conexión Positiva Forum PV, on August 10 at 10:00 am at Oficina de Proyectos Culturales (OPC), located in Juárez #598, Centro.
This last session will be attended by activist Kenya Cuevas, named official ambassador of Vallarta Pride this year, and will consist of conferences open to the public where topics such as mental health, well-being of the trans people and sports in the LGBTIQ+ community will be discussed.
Conexión Positiva seeks to foster comprehensive well-being and empowerment of the LGBTIQ+ population through its initiatives, which include educational aspects and the promotion of sports through community calisthenics groups, currently present in Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Tlalnepantla.
