New Pier Will Be Built Near Rosita Hotel
Puerto Vallarta Mayor-elect Luis Munguia, who won the recent election by a large majority, recently met with Jalisco Governor-elect Pablo Lemus, and despite the two belonging to different political parties, have agreed on funding for some future infrastructure projects for Puerto Vallarta.
A new pier will be built near the Rosita Hotel – located in the historic center of the city – to improve accessibility and “potentially boost tourism in the downtown area.”
“With Luis Munguia we agreed on the route to make the main projects that Puerto Vallarta requires in the coming years a reality,” Lemus wrote on his Facebook page. “We will build a new pier in the northern area of the historic center of Puerto Vallarta, near the Rosita hotel. We will also begin with the projection of the Las Juntas road node, the improvement of public transportation, the solution to the problem of drinking water that exists in many neighborhoods of the municipality and the management of the Federación bridge that connects Puerto Vallarta with Bahía de Banderas.”
The project at Las Juntas intersection will be a modern roundabout to make a smoother flow of traffic, which will help reduce travel times which have become increasingly long as the population increases in Puerto Vallarta.
Another project pushed by Munguia, the construction of the long-awaited Federación Bridge, which will connect Puerto Vallarta to Bahía de Banderas, will receive the attention it deserves under this collaborative leadership.
Lemus told other media outlets that he expects the first project to be developed in collaboration with Munguia would be the pier with work starting in 2025.
