SETAC, Puerto Vallarta’s LGBT Wellness Center, is celebrating 10 years of operations with a party free to the Community at Industry nightclub on Saturday, November 16, from 7:00-10:00 pm. DJs will play dance music throughout the night, and all are welcome to attend.
The SETAC team is using the occasion to not only thank its many long-time sponsors and benefactors, but also to announce several exciting new community projects under the slogan “Building a Healthy and Unified Community,” including delivery of a new van that will be used to deliver important services to key populations throughout the entire city, something never possible before.
The SETAC ‘Mobile HIV Detection Unit’ was one of the few social assistance projects chosen to receive government funding through a competitive grant process in which numerous non profit organizations in the State of Jalisco participated.
The van, which was recently delivered, will allow SETAC to expand their Brigadas por la Vida (Brigades for Life) program, which takes the tools of education and HIV prevention – rapid tests, condoms, lubricants, brochures, prevention packages, etc. – directly to the people of Puerto Vallarta and surrounding communities in the Banderas Bay region.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 16, and come help SETAC celebrate 10 years of providing essential services to the community, including physical and mental health treatment, referrals, and education in an atmosphere of safety, free from discrimination.
Industry nightclub, located on Calle Lázaro Cárdenas #258 between Ignacio Vallarta and Constitución in the Zona Romantica, is offering everyone a free welcome cocktail and discounted well drinks throughout the celebration. Come and join the fun!
Located at Aldanaca 178 4A & 4B, in the Colonia Versalles of neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta, SETAC is a non-profit community and wellness center whose mission is to reduce HIV and other sexually transmitted infections in the greater Banderas Bay region through education, detection and prevention. Free counseling, testing, treatments and referrals for HIV and other sexual transmitted illness are just some of the free services SETAC provides to the entire population, without prejudice or discrimination.
