The changes are impressive, and will benefit each and every patient they serve. However, what makes ThrIVe so unique, and sets them apart from their competition, is their philosophy and the dedicated staff that brings that philosophy to fruition with each and every interaction. Meet the wonderful team that is taking ThrIVe IV & MedSpa to the next level.
Mikel Alvarez – CEO
Mikel is the CEO and Founder of ThrIVe IV & MedSpa. He originally hails from Seattle, Washington, but is of Mexican Heritage. Mikel has lived full time in Puerto Vallarta for three years, though he started vacationing here with his family thirty two years ago. He officially opened ThrIVe on December 31, 2021. Always striving to help others, and prior to his move to Mexico, he got involved in the California and Nevada dispensary industry to assist those in need of medicinal marijuana. He made a difference in the lives of; veterans, cancer patients, and those with anxiety issues. With the change from medicinal to recreational marijuana in California, the industry changed and Mikel felt the previous patient dynamic was no longer possible.
With this in mind, he opened a Ketamine IV Clinic in Las Vegas, which gave him the ability to assist those suffering from; stress, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and addiction. With the Ketamine IV Therapy in mind, Mikel emphasized the importance of disconnecting to reconnect. During his many years of vacationing here in Puerto Vallarta, Mikel noticed there was no IV clinic to be found anywhere. On one trip, he developed a case of sun sickness, which progressed to sun poisoning. He needed an IV transfusion to help resolve the issue, but didn’t want to take the time to go to the hospital, just for one IV. In that moment, the concept for ThrIVe was born. The idea of creating a space where everyone can come to feel better, allowing them to enjoy their vacation while here in Puerto Vallarta.
Mikel concluded with his mantra that has made such a difference to so many patients over the years. “I’m here in PV to help people, and that is what my staff and I do every single day, we treat our patients the way we want to be treated.”
Danny Chavez – Admin
Danny began his career with ThrIVe in January of 2023. He originally hails from Mexico City, but has lived in Puerto Vallarta since April of 2021. When he discovered PV he fell in love with the peacefulness of the city, and shared it is a great place for healing and love. Danny built a career as a model for several US, European and Mexican brands, doing extensive modeling in Mexico City. In promoting various high end brands of clothing, Danny learned the art of connecting with each individual in a personal way. This provided the perfect background to become the welcoming face of ThrIVe, setting each patient at ease upon their arrival.
As Danny so eloquently shared, “we always strive at ThrIVe to excel in customer service; we always have a smile on, and do everything possible to make every patient feel welcome.” Danny concluded by emphasizing, “The team concept is a huge part of our success; we always work together as a team to support each other.”
Alejandro Leal – Registered Nurse
Alejandro began his career with ThrIVe in November of 2021, at the commencement of their soft opening. He was born and raised here in Puerto Vallarta, and has been a Nurse for 13 years. Alejandro also works with IMSS (the Mexican Social Security Institute) at General Hospital #42. He is multitalented, and is responsible for IV Hydration, Vitamin infusions, Testosterone therapy and outcall service to patient homes and hotels during the week.
Alejandro is dedicated to the well being of all patients, and he enjoys making the procedure as relaxed as possible by using his unique sense of humor, stating with a smile, “I’m extremely good with needles.”
Paulina Fuentes – Registered Nurse
Paulina began her career with ThrIVe in January of 2023. She was born and raised here in Puerto Vallarta. Paulina works with IMSS (the Mexican Social Security Institute) at General Hospital #42. She is multitalented, and is responsible for the outcall service to patient homes and hotels during the weekend. Her duties consist of IV Hydration, Vitamin infusions and IM (intramuscular) shots.
Paulina enjoys making each encounter more relaxed for her patients, stating “I try to help every patient who is nervous or anxious about a procedure, by making them feel comfortable and safe.”
Levi Hernandez – Aesthetics Practitioner
Levi began his career with ThrIVe in February of 2022. He originally hails from Los Angeles, California; but has lived in Puerto Vallarta for two years. Being of Mexican heritage, when Levi vacationed here for the first time six years ago; he totally fell in love with the local culture. Growing up in LA made him want to return to where his roots are, and explore his ancestry. He stated reflectively,
“In PV I get the best of both worlds, the US and Mexican influences combined.” Prior to joining ThrIVe, he worked at La Joya Hospital here in Puerto Vallarta. Levi specializes in; Botox, Fillers, and all aspects of improving skincare. His patients value the natural look that he is able to attain, and the less is more philosophy that is Levi’s mantra. Smiling, he shared what he enjoys most about his mission at ThrIVe, is that each day is an adventure. Concluding, he stated “it feels so good to make a difference, to help patients feel and look better, and to walk out of this amazing space everyday feeling happy.”
