With each passing year, this iconic event has evolved into a beacon of innovation and collaboration within the tourism industry, drawing attention from across the globe.
On the morning of Tuesday, February 6, 2024, hosted buyers arrived, signaling the beginning of a transformative gathering. This year, organizers have expanded their outreach, inviting niche buyers specializing in luxury, romance, LGBTQ+ travel, and golf, alongside a strategic alliance with CONEXSTUR, an association of incoming tour operators renowned for their influence in the Mexican tourism market.
The influx of attendees is unprecedented, with a record number of representatives from national and international media outlets joining the fray. Approximately 110 strategic allies descended upon the destination, ready to immerse themselves in familiarization activities aimed at showcasing the unparalleled beauty and offerings of Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit.
“This edition represents a culmination of extensive planning and innovation,” remarks Grecia López, liaison for the Secretary of Tourism of Nayarit. “We are thrilled to welcome the first wave of buyers who will experience firsthand the myriad attractions and advantages of visiting our region.”
Luis Villaseñor, director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust, echoes this sentiment, emphasizing the event’s dedication to continual improvement and adaptation. “Our commitment to innovation is evident in the diverse array of segments represented among our invited buyers,” he states. “From golf enthusiasts to luxury travelers, from romance seekers to LGBTQ+ tourists, Gala Puerto Vallarta – Riviera Nayarit truly offers something for everyone.”
With the inclusion of these new market segments, the Gala solidifies its status as a premier tourism event in the Mexican Pacific, boasting a staggering roster of 82 wholesalers hailing from Mexico, the United States, Canada, and an array of other countries spanning the globe. As anticipation mounts for the commencement of business meetings at the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center on February 8, the stage is set for a dynamic exchange of ideas and partnerships that will shape the future of tourism in the region and beyond.
