To many Puerto Vallarta has two seasons – rainy and not rainy.
And today, Sept. 22, 2022, marks the slow decline of the rainy days in Puerto Vallarta and the start of autumn (fall) in the Northern Hemisphere.
Rainy and humid weather is experienced by Puerto Vallarta in June, July, August, September and October.
The start of Autumn is when the Sun crosses the equator going from north to south, this marks the autumnal equinox. During this time, the Sun reaches its highest point in the sky, since it is located in the plane of the celestial equator, causing day and night to have almost the same duration. Thus in the northern hemisphere we receive the arrival of autumn, and in the southern hemisphere, spring.
That’s why so many locals refer to November as the beginning of the “high season”, as the weather turns to more enjoyable temperatures. In November you can expect an average high of 88°F to 84°F, and low temperatures around 66°F.
