The internationally touring comedy production Puppetry of the Penis will begin a limited engagement in Puerto Vallarta on March 10, performing through April 2 at ACT2PV Theater’s Mainstage.
Performances are scheduled for 9 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday beginning March 10 at ACT2PV Theater, Insurgentes 300, Col. Emiliano Zapata. Tickets are available at act2pv.com.
Billed as the “Ancient Australian Art of Genital Origami,” the adult comedy has toured more than 35 countries, been staged in multiple languages and entertained more than one million people worldwide since debuting in Melbourne nearly three decades ago.

The production is approaching its 11th year in Las Vegas, marking one of the rare long-running residencies in contemporary entertainment. The Puerto Vallarta engagement will feature original Las Vegas cast member Robert Ryan alongside Nick Rogers, a performer familiar to local audiences.
The show includes full-frontal male nudity and is presented as non-sexual adult comedy. Performers create more than 40 comedic “installations,” including pieces titled “The Pelican,” “The Windsurfer,” “The Eiffel Tower,” “The Loch Ness Monster” and “The Hamburger.”
Since its debut, Puppetry of the Penis has appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, London’s West End, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Montreal’s Just for Laughs, as well as in extended U.S. runs including a two-year engagement at New York’s John Houseman Theatre. The production has also appeared on HBO’s “Real Sex,” released DVDs internationally and published a companion book.
The concept was created in 1996 by Simon Morley as a novelty art calendar project before evolving into a live stage act. Morley and performing partner David Friend premiered the show at the 1998 Melbourne International Comedy Festival and later toured nationally across Australia, a journey documented in the film Tackle Happy.
