The local theater group Dionisio is bringing back their hit drag comedy play (in Spanish), “Amigas Desgraciadas” (Wretched Friends), for a new season. The production will feature three performances on Saturdays—April 18, April 25, and May 2, 2026—at 8 p.m. The venue is the Plataforma 322 cultural center, located at Alondra 103, Colonia Los Sauces.
This revival follows a highly successful run at the first Theatre Showcase of the Puerto Vallarta Stage Creators Collective last month.
“We know this play is very beloved; however, we were absolutely delighted by the audience’s response at the theatre showcase. So, we are thrilled to announce three more shows,” emphasizes Juan Pablo Hernández, who portrays one of the friends.
The Plot
Directed by Juan Carlos Ramírez and written by Argentine playwright Hugo D. Marcos, “Amigas Desgraciadas” centers on five friends who meet weekly to play cards. This time, however, a scandalous event uncovers shocking secrets among them, unraveling a hilarious and chaotic story.
“As with every season, we have surprises tucked into the plot. This project allows us to blend melodramatic elements with comedy, which the audience truly loves,” notes Vilchis Joya, a member of the original cast.
The Cast
The production features a talented lineup of Vallarta-based actors:
- Main Cast: Juan Carlos Ramírez, Juan Pablo Hernández, Christian Velasco, and Vilchis Joya.
- Special Guest Performance: This season, the character of “Carmen” will be alternated by Oliver Michelena and César Bravo.
- Technical Team: Samantha Dueñas and Cindy Jazmín.
