The Puerto Vallarta Municipal Government, in coordination with the local DIF System, is calling on the community to lace up their running shoes for the upcoming “Carrera de las Juventudes” (Youth Race); a 5km recreational event scheduled for Sunday, April 26, at 7:20 a.m. at the Agustín Flores Contreras Sports Complex (located in Colonia Lázaro Cárdenas).
All proceeds from this year’s edition will be dedicated to the maintenance of the local Child Development Assistance Centers (CADI). The race is designed to be inclusive, welcoming participants of all ages to run, jog, or walk the 5km route.
As an additional initiative, the race will be pet-friendly and will encourage pet adoptions and food donations through the modules of the Animal Welfare department that will be installed at the sports venue.
To ensure the event fosters sportsmanship across all social sectors, the Youth Directorate is inviting citizens to “sponsor” a student in vulnerable conditions. By covering the registration fee for a local teenager, sponsors can help promote healthy lifestyles while supporting the CADI cause.
