Maintaining nearly the same hotel occupancy percentage as the previous year, 2023 showcased the positive impact of increased hotel room supply. The ongoing expansion of existing properties, inauguration of new ones, and alternative accommodations through digital platforms contributed to this stable performance.

Notably, employment rates flourished, with an increase from almost 139 thousand employees in 2022 to just over 148 thousand formal jobs in 2023, reflecting a remarkable growth of nearly 6.5% compared to the previous year.

Luis Villaseñor, director of the Tourism Trust of the city, attributed these outstanding results to Puerto Vallarta’s unique attributes, such as its blend of mountains, sea, and cosmopolitan charm. He emphasized the city’s ability to cater to diverse tastes and budgets through its multi-segment hospitality and experiences, making it a multi-award-winning destination in 2023.

The success is attributed to the concerted efforts of the state and municipal government’s national and international promotion, along with the collaborative spirit of the entire Vallarta community. The hotel industry played a pivotal role, ensuring exceptional accommodation, while all tourism service providers dedicated themselves to providing memorable experiences for visitors.
