Puerto Vallarta restaurants Gaviotas at the Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Convention Center and Mikado at the Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa have been nominated for the seventh annual World Culinary Awards.
The awards recognize excellence in the global culinary industry and are considered the sister event of the World Travel Awards, which have honored achievements in tourism since 1994.
Gaviotas is nominated for Best Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant in Latin America, a category it won in 2014. The restaurant, which holds AAA Four Diamond certification, offers fine dining in Puerto Vallarta with a focus on creative dishes, quality ingredients and carefully selected flavors.
Mikado is nominated for Best Hotel Restaurant in Mexico. The Japanese restaurant, which has operated since 1990, features 14 teppanyaki grills where chefs prepare meals in front of diners.
The nominations recognize the restaurants’ continued commitment to culinary excellence and their efforts to provide memorable dining experiences.
Voting is open to the public. Voters must register on the official World Culinary Awards website before casting their ballots. You can vote here.
Gaviotas is nominated in the Best Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant in Latin America category, while Mikado is competing for Best Hotel Restaurant in Mexico.
The 2026 World Culinary Awards ceremony is scheduled for Oct. 13 in Jamaica.
The nominations also highlight Puerto Vallarta’s growing profile as an international culinary destination.
