Puerto Vallarta, Tourism Trust.- The Puerto Vallarta activities calendar offers different entertainment options for its visitors since the beginning of the year. Some of them are wonders of nature, and others, events organized by associations that over time have created authentic traditions supported by Mexican folklore.

In this beginning of the year with the winter underway, Puerto Vallarta, in Banderas Bay, continues to be a natural refuge for humpback whales, which migrate from the northern coast of the continent on time every year in search of warmer waters.

In this high season, national tourists and especially foreigners – many of them temporary residents – enjoy the tianguis of art, crafts and local products that are installed on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Film fans will be able to enjoy, from January 9 to 20, twelve films that make up the poster of the 67th International Film Exhibition organized by the National Cineteca of Mexico City, and that for the first time arrives at the Vallartense Institute of Culture. Here are the details of these activities:

Humpback whales in the bay

These beautiful sea creatures, travel across the oceans and seas of the world, approximately migrate around 25 thousand kilometers a year. They feed only during the summer in polar regions, then, during the months of December and until March, they migrate to the tropical waters of the Jalisco coast, where they can be observed in Puerto Vallarta.
