Jesse was born in Aguascalientes, an eight-hour drive from Vallarta, but he spent most of his youth in Indiana, in the United States. After following his mother back to her native Mexico, the 24-year-old settled in Puerto Vallarta based on some recommendations from friends.
In his own words, he got a job “as a simple dish washer but then my dream came true in becoming a bartender.” After working at StreetBar, he continues to serve at the same location in what has recently opened as La ChachaLaca Bar on Francisca Rodríguez. He is trying to be the best man he can be, as a tribute to his father’s memory, and swears he will never leave Puerto Vallarta again.
