Arrival expected Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023
Tropical storm Lidia is expected to form into a Hurricane during the night of Oct. 9, 2023 and appears to be headed towards the west coast of Mexico, including Puerto Vallarta.
Lidia is expected to arrive sometime in the morning on Tuesday, Oct. 9, bringing heavy rains that could trigger flooding and mudslides across the the state of Nayarit, southern portions of the state of Sinaloa, and coastal portions of the state of Jalisco in western Mexico.
A dangerous storm surge is expected from Lidia near and to the south of where the center of Lidia moves over the Islas Marias and the coast of west-central Mexico
Swells from Lidia will cause dangerous surf and rip current conditions along the west coast of Mexico and the Baja California peninsula during the next couple of days.
You can prepare for a hurricane by having:
- An emergency food and water supply.
- An emergency medicine supply.
- Emergency power sources such as flashlights (don’t forget extra batteries).
- Safety and personal items.
- Important documents, including medical documents, wills, passports, and personal identification
