The fourth edition of the Puerto Vallarta Mexico by UTMB (Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc) trail running race began this Thursday morning, April 16, 2026, with a “Shakeout Run” on the city’s Malecón and the distribution of race kits at Plaza Lázaro Cárdenas (Zona Romántica).

Presented by the UTMB® World Series—the world’s premier trail running circuit—the event will run from April 16 to 18. More than 2,000 national and international runners are expected to participate.
This competition involves racing through natural trails, mountains, forests, and deserts, far from the pavement, with categories ranging from 5 to 81 kilometers. Consequently, Puerto Vallarta has established itself as an extraordinary venue, offering the lush beauty of the Sierra Madre Occidental and the Pacific coast.
Race Categories:
- Hikuri: 81 km
- Nakawé: 53 km
- Haramara: 37 km
- Ereno: 20 km
- Pata Salada: 5 km
Plaza Lázaro Cárdenas has been transformed into an Expo, where various sports brands participating in the event are offering products to the public and athletes. This is also where runners have begun picking up their official race kits.
The main competitions will take place on April 17 and 18. You can consult the full event program on their official website.
