A new tour operator is planning a very special cultural trip to Puerto Vallarta, one that specifically focuses on the drag culture in the gay mecca of Mexico.
Drag Trips (www.dragtrips.com) an operator of group and private chartered Drag Trips, Weekends, Summer Camps and Voyages to LGBTQ+ friendly destinations, has announced bookings are now open for its Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, trip.
“Guests book unforgettable experiences with an immersive itinerary focused on the mind, body and soul while celebrating the art of drag and supporting the LGBTQ+ community,” said Todd Murray, president.
The guests will attend the Workroom Workshop which goes behind the pink wall with designers from Drag Race – who share iconic looks from the show – before heading to the Drag Dinner attended by queens from Drag Race, with a multi-course dinner, curated cocktails, performances and memorable moments.
“We hire LGBTQ+ hosts along with local LGBTQ+ guides, who are often local queens, who share valuable information, experiences and their expertise during the Drag Trips in Australia, France, Puerto Rico, Puerto Vallarta and Thailand along with Drag Weekends in Bangkok and Miami,” Murray said.
“I’ve spent the last few years living in Puerto Vallarta soaking up the local culture and being an active member of the LGBTQ+ community. It’s not only a beautiful city with rich experiences and a gorgeous landscape but it is also home to a vibrant gayborhood where I’ve gotten to live my best life while thriving in my authentic self. I invite you to join us on a Drag Trip to live your best life while finding a little piece of yourself with an itinerary packed with immersive experiences which includes celebrating drag and supporting the LGBTQ+ community,” says creator and Drag Trip Puerto Vallarta host, Mikey Tooley.
Murray said Drag Trips is committed to making an impact in the gayborhood by driving revenue for LGBTQ+ friendly and owned small businesses and is making a donation for every guest to local nonprofits that work with those with special needs and the LGBTQ+ community.
“At Drag Trips our goal is that 70% of the vendors we work with are LGBTQ+ owned with the rest being LGBTQ+ friendly,” he explained.
“I have had the privilege and pleasure to experience and support the art of drag around the world and am excited that guests will have the same opportunity with Drag Trips. I am honored to work with so many members of the LGBTQ+ community from hosts, drag queens and small businesses who are coming together to take Drag Trips from a dream to a reality,” says Todd Murray, President of Drag Trips.
Creators can register to be Trip Leaders and join their fans and followers on a trip or Weekend while earning revenue. In addition, brands have the opportunity to reach the LGBTQ+ community and our allies before, during and after a trip or Weekend through meaningful integration and visibility not just during Pride but all year long.
