I attended the opening of this amazing new space on the evening of February 27th 2024.
Held on a large veranda under a massive Mexican palapa, guests enjoyed incredible craft cocktails, delicious Hors D’oeuvres prepared by Las Villas very own Chef Javier Marias and his talented staff, as well as a perfect selection of diverse music.
The event was perfectly coordinated to catch the final light of a late February evening, as the sun slowly set over the Pacific Ocean.
I was so fortunate to receive a grand tour of the entire property, and as I explored room after incredible room, it was akin to finding a new island to discover with all its unique and wondrous glory.
The property, located in the tony neighborhood of Amapas, was constructed in the 1980s, and underwent an extensive two year renovation, which has transformed it into the splendor it is today.
Las Villas is now an unparalleled retreat for guests with discriminating taste and an appreciation for the quiet elegance that is abundantly present in every direction.
The architecture alone is a site to behold; the entire property has a wonderful open air feel, which captures the aura of Tulum, with a Pacific flair. It is as if the inside and the outside are merged into one incredible space where there is no separation between the two.
Rich, dark wood predominates, and rustic ceilings of red brick provide a natural feel of timeless sturdiness.
Las Villas has space for eighteen guests who can be accommodated in the amazingly spacious 20,528 square foot property. The Villa features; eight bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, two crystal clear saltwater infinity pools, a luxurious Jacuzzi, a state of the art gym, elegant dining areas, a media room, three sophisticated bars and an incredible family room with a high ceiling, and stunning fireplace.
