When Greg Moesser couldn’t find a European-style café to match the coffeehouses of Vienna or the elegance of the Hôtel de Crillon and the Danieli, he decided to build one himself in Puerto Vallarta. Now, TROVASI Café has picked up a series of honors recognizing its food, coffee and overall guest experience.
Moesser, originally from Los Angeles, is a former dressage trainer and retired realtor who moved to Puerto Vallarta with his husband, Dwight. The couple’s first venture in the city was Villa Vallardin, a luxury vacation rental accommodating up to 16 guests, which they opened more than four years ago. In February 2025, they brought that same attention to detail to Plaza Los Mercados in the Romantic Zone with the opening of TROVASI Café.

TROVASI has received the Gold “E” Award of Excellence from Entrée, a confidential luxury travel newsletter that identifies exceptional hotels, resorts and restaurants for discerning travelers, which named the café “One of the Finest Cafés in Mexico.” The café has also been named “Best European Café Experience 2026 – Mexico” and received the “Culinary Excellence Award 2026 – Mexico,” honors that follow a global evaluation process from the Bake & Brew Awards Committee 2026 and will be announced in LuxLife magazine.
The café offers European bistro cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with gourmet coffee service, house-made desserts and an extensive Prosecco Spritz cocktail menu. “It’s all about the food quality, the experience and the service,” Moesser said.
With its growing list of accolades, TROVASI Café continues to draw both locals and visitors to the Romantic Zone looking for a taste of European café culture in Puerto Vallarta.
