Dogs dressed in rainbow colors, festive costumes and Pride-themed accessories filled Plaza Lázaro Cárdenas on Monday, May 18, 2026, for the 2026 Vallarta Pride Pet Parade, bringing pet owners and spectators together for one of the more playful events of Pride Week in Puerto Vallarta.
The fourth annual parade began at Parque Lazaro Cardenas, where participants gathered for the “Top Dog Contest” before leaving for the sunset parade on the Malecon.
Organizers promoted the parade as part of Vallarta Pride celebrations taking place May 17-24 under the theme “La Nueva Era: Un Pride Muy Mexicano.”
The pet parade is one of several public events scheduled during Vallarta Pride week, which also includes concerts, cultural programming, parties and the city’s annual Pride parade later this week.
