Corre con Orgullo (Run with Pride): Celebrating Diversity in Puerto Vallarta

On June 29, 2024, Puerto Vallarta will be filled with color and energy with the anticipated “Corre con Orgullo (Run with Pride)” race, organized by the Colectivo Diverso UDG in Puerto Vallarta, from the University of Guadalajara. This event, which promotes inclusion, respect, and visibility of the LGBTQ+ community, marks the inaugural edition of an initiative aiming to become a landmark celebration of diversity and pride in the region.

The race will start at 8 a.m. at the iconic Malecón in Puerto Vallarta, winding through some of the city’s most picturesque spots. With 2.5 km and 5 km options, “Corre con Orgullo (Run with Pride)” is designed for everyone, from experienced runners to those who simply want to enjoy an active and meaningful morning.

Moreover, the race includes various categories to accommodate all participants: children’s, youth, open, master’s, and adaptive sports. This ensures that people of all ages and abilities can join in this celebration of diversity and pride.

The Colectivo Diverso UDG has prepared a series of activities to complement the race. From live music and artistic performances to an informational fair with various supporting organizations, the event promises to be an inclusive and vibrant celebration.

Participants will also receive a commemorative t-shirt and a medal upon crossing the finish line. The funds raised will be allocated to projects and campaigns of the Colectivo Diverso UDG, helping to sustain their important work in Puerto Vallarta and the surrounding areas.
