A popular boutique hotel among LGBT travelers to Vallarta has received outstanding acknowledgment from TripAdvisor.

The Travelers’ Choice Awards, according to the TripAdvisor website, “are the highest honor TripAdvisor can bestow. The only travel industry awards based on millions of reviews and opinions from travelers around the world, these annual awards reflect “the best of the best” for service, quality, and customer satisfaction, from hotels and accommodations to destinations, attractions, and even brands and products.”

And for the year 2018, Casa Cupula is the only LGBT hotel included among these hotels in all of Mexico.

Overall less than 1% of all hotels registered with TripAdvisor receive the award.

According to Gustavo Silva Lacroix, the division manager of rooms at Casa Cupula, the recognition is a direct result of a team effort put in place last year.

“We were ranking number 25 in the hotels in Vallarta,” he said, “and we were in the top 3 for about three months, so we did a huge campaign with all the guests and employees. We trained reception and housekeeping and all the staff that have direct contact with the guests to improve the ‘wow’ factor in everything they do and how to keep in contact with the guests to get the reviews.”

Along with Hotel Mousai and Casa Velas, Casa Cupula is just one of three boutique hotels in the area to receive the award. You can see the acknowledgment on the TripAdvisor website: it is the #18 most popular romantic hotel in Mexico.

“This award is mostly for the staff,” he said, “for everything they do everyday. And I’m just the one who led the people on how to do it and how to find the ‘wow’ factor in everything they do with the guests, like taking care of the little details and ensure the guests are very satisfied with their stay here and they always want to come back as well.”

“It’s a huge honor and we’re going to try to win every single year now.”
