Canadian Airlines WestJet and Air Transat are ramping up their presence in Puerto Vallarta for the upcoming winter season, a clear indication of growing demand for the Mexican destination.
WestJet is set to increase flight frequencies from Winnipeg to Puerto Vallarta by a significant 17%, offering a maximum of seven weekly services between December and April.
To accommodate increased passenger numbers, the airline will also deploy larger aircraft on several routes, boosting overall seat capacity by 5%. Canadians from coast to coast will have access to Puerto Vallarta, with WestJet offering flights from 12 cities across the country.
Air Transat is joining the expansion efforts with an additional weekly flight from Montreal to Puerto Vallarta during peak season. Travelers from other Canadian cities can also connect to Puerto Vallarta via Montreal through Air Transat’s partnership with Porter Airlines.
“These developments underscore the enduring appeal of Puerto Vallarta as a top winter destination for Canadians,” said Luis Villasenor, executive director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust. “As airlines invest in expanded service to the region, visitors can expect more options and competitive fares.”
