Vallarta Pride, along with other local officials, announced plans and details for the upcoming Vallarta Pride Festival. The event was held recently at Industry Bar.
This conference began by recounting the achievements of the last edition; Planning for 2024 was a challenge, because organizers wanted a bigger and better event than 2023, which had the most attendees celebrating its 10th anniversary.
“The marketing agency that has been in charge of organizing Vallarta Pride for the past three years (aMi Agency) had to get involved and understand in depth what it really means to have a PRIDE festival, since it is much more than just a party,” explained Javier Jimenez, president of Vallarta Pride. “Now, having participated in the Inter Pride conference that brings together all the Organizing Committees from around the world, and understanding the commitments that a pride festival must return to the community, they have dedicated themselves to working on what they were sure would be a a fantastic event.”

Celebrating its 10th year in 2023, the pride festival was a display of talent, culture, sport, and visibility for all the diversity of the community. It had the theme“Be Proud of Your Nature”, in which people told their stories. history, and they posed to become the image of that campaign. In addition to the more than 11 days of activities, the festival broke records for visitors but also economic benefits for Puerto Vallarta.
In 2024 the festival starts on May 20 with a Pet Parade, which will begin in the Lázaro Cárdenas park, along the entire boardwalk and back in which the pets will show off the colors of the Rainbow.
Jessica Montes, in talking about the pet parade, explained that a raffle will be held to support the dog shelter and the Yvoneka foundation, which for years has helped rescue homeless dogs, looking for a home where they can be cared for and loved.
Educational conferences will be held May 21, 22, and 23 (with a sign language interpreter present). Some of the presentations include “Memories of Freedom” The journey of an LGBT older adult. On May 23 community icon Kenya Cuevas will talk about how “My greatest revenge is that we all be happy.”
On May 22 the sophisticated Pink Dinner will be held at ALMAR Resorts, where everyone dresses up to support a cause while enjoying the show with world-class artists featuring artists from RuPaul’s Drag Race. This year’s dinner will support Vallarta Pride.
A three day outdoor festival will be in the Lázaro Cárdenas Park, from May 23 to 25, under the name of “Pride Sun Festival” in which different businesses and companies will have the opportunity to offer its services to the LGBTQI+ community starting from Noon to 10 p.m.
Part of the Festival will offer an impressive lineup of artists and talent, both local, national and international artists, who will perform on stage. Including a Ball by the Queer community with the theme “Planet 0”, a first-class artistic dance performance.
On May 25 a recreational race, in an alliance with Rainbow Race, will be held. The walking or running 3k or 6K, along the boardwalk will start at 7:30 a.m. with a warm-up prior to the 8 a.m. start at the Arches of the Malecón of Puerto Vallarta.

On Saturday, May 25, the Pride Parade will start at 10 a.m. in front of the Sheraton Hotel, on its traditional route along the main streets of the city until reaching the Romantic Zone. This year’s theme for the parade is “Sun and Beach.”

The closing of the Sun Pride Festival will be on May 25 with a party on the beach, for those who want to enjoy DJs by the sea. The beach party will run from 4 p.m. to Midnight, on the beach in front of Daiquiri Dicks (314 Olas Atlas) – near Lazaro Cardenas Park. The beach party is replacing the street block party.
On May 26, Vallarta Pride will hold an art auction on Púlpito Street with important artists who will present their works where THOMSON will host a magical night full of Glamor and Art. This auction will benefit the Vallarta Art Museum.
