Vallarta Botanical Gardens

Esta publicación también está disponible en: Español

Just a half hour drive south of Vallarta, a winding path down Hwy 200 that mostly borders the edge of Banderas Bay, the Vallarta Botanical Gardens is in many ways a breathtaking experience. Bob Price, the curator and founder, and his team have developed and maintained a series of local and international plant-life exhibits—as well as a number of complementary hiking trails and even an opportunity to dip into the waters of the Rio los Horcones—that can easily fill an entire day. Be sure to stop at La Hacienda de Oro, too: your server will prepare the Traditional Chismole Salsa right at your table.

Peek over the rail, down to the bird feeder and watch the local wildlife gather and feed too.
