Mercurio Swim Fashion Show on Thursday, May, 23 La Catrina Beers, Boys, Burgers on Sunday, May 26
Two fundraisers have been set to raise money for the staff of the former Hotel Mercurio and Swimwear.
The first will be held on May 23 at Vallarta Pride and the second on May 26 at La Catrina Cantina.
DJ Faith Inferno, like so many, has been devastated by the news with the closing of Hotel Mercurio and Mercurio Swimwear. And having so many friends that worked at the hotel, she’s also concerned about their welfare.
“I was working with Paul on the Mercurio Swim fashion show,” Faith told O&APV. “But, since everything happened I decided to try and keep the show going during the time slot that Vallarta Pride had given Mercurio Swim, and make it a fundraiser for the workers. I’ve been in communication with Gabriel (former Mercurio manager) and he’s confirmed it’s ok to go ahead with the show.”
Talent for the show includes DJ Faith Inferno, Boys on Fire, Alison Lo, Angie Star, Surfhula and Fernanda Hernandez.
The Mercurio Swim Fashion Show will raise money for the staff of Hotel Mercurio who are currently facing hardship.
“Basically, we’ll have a big, beautiful jar,” Faith said. “All the tips for the artists and gogos will go in the jar. Then, at the end, we’ll count it all out and Gabriel will take the cash to ensure it goes towards severance pay for the former staff.”
That’s right, every peso you toss to a performer or stuff into a gogo’s swimsuit goes directly to helping those in need. So come ready to tip generously.

La Catrina Cantina Fundraiser
Sunday May 26 4 p.m.
La Catrina Cantina will be hosting a benefit to support the staff in this difficult time.
We will be hosting their Beers, Burgers, and Boys on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at 4 p.m.
A portion of the liquor sales will go to the Mercurio Hotel for their staff’s liquidation.
