DER Touristik Takes the Lead

The new service will be operated by the renowned travel group DER Touristik, catering to travelers from the Czech Republic’s major cities of Prague, Brno, and Ostrava. Their travel packages will not only whisk you away to the beautiful beaches of Puerto Vallarta, but also present the opportunity to explore the cultural gems of Tequila and Guadalajara.

Boosting European Tourism

This collaboration is expected to attract a significant number of European tourists to Jalisco. The charter flight, with a capacity of 432 passengers per trip, is projected to bring over 10,000 visitors throughout the operational season. Travelers can expect to come not just from the Czech Republic, but also from neighboring countries like Germany, Austria, and Poland.

“The new flight arriving in Puerto Vallarta from Prague opens a new market for the city,” stated Vanessa Pérez Lamas, Secretary of Tourism of Jalisco. “With a potential to attract visitors to Tequila and Guadalajara as well, this collaboration with the hotel sector creates a win-win situation for all involved.”

Puerto Vallarta Airport Gears Up

The Puerto Vallarta International Airport is well-prepared to handle the anticipated increase in passenger traffic. Cryshtian José Amador Lizardi, director of the airport, highlighted the ongoing modernization efforts to ensure a smooth travel experience for all visitors. “The airport has seen significant growth in recent years, with over 6.7 million passengers in 2023 and a 5% increase in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period last year. We at GAP are committed to maintaining top-level infrastructure to accommodate the growing international demand for Puerto Vallarta,” he remarked.

DER Touristik Expands Exotic Offerings

This new route aligns perfectly with DER Touristik’s strategy of expanding their exotic destination offerings. “Direct flights are proven to significantly boost the appeal of these locations,” stated Jiří Jelínek, Director of DER Touristik for Eastern Europe. Their highly successful Airbus A350 flights, coupled with the addition of Mexico, Kenya, Bahrain, and a new Cuban destination, demonstrate their commitment to providing diverse travel experiences.

Jalisco Welcomes Europe

With the combined efforts of Jalisco’s tourism sector, DER Touristik, and the Puerto Vallarta International Airport, this new charter flight signifies a major step forward in attracting European visitors. Jalisco’s cultural richness, breathtaking beaches, and convenient direct connection from Prague are sure to make it a top travel destination for European tourists this coming season.
