Spring Jazz Festival at Los Muertros Pier Begins March 18

The 28th edition of the renowned Spring Jazz Festival will begin Monday, March 18, at the Los Muertos pier and will run until March 22, heralding the arrival of spring with soulful melodies and vibrant rhythms.

In homage to the illustrious career of Willow Brizio, a trailblazer of jazz in Guadalajara and beyond, this year’s festival promises to be an unforgettable celebration of musical prowess and passion.

Beverly Moore, the captivating jazz vocalist and wife of Willow Brizio, alongside Alex Martínez Gil, a pioneering musician and stalwart of the festival, and Oscar Carlos Vázquez, the operational director of Cuates y Cuetes, the festival’s official venue, proudly announced the upcoming event at a recent press conference.

Commencing on March 18 at 4:00 pm, the festival will captivate audiences every afternoon until March 22. With a lineup featuring esteemed musicians from across Mexico and beyond, including Mexico City, Guadalajara, Chiapas, Oaxaca, Los Cabos, the United States, Canada, and local talents from Vallarta, this cultural extravaganza promises to be a testament to the universal language of music. Enthusiasts can revel in the performances of approximately five different bands each day, culminating in mesmerizing collective improvisations.

The pinnacle of the festival, on March 21, will witness a grand beachside concert commencing at 2 p.m. against the picturesque backdrop of the Los Muertos pier.

Admission is free throughout the event, with the only requirement being patronage at the host restaurant, Cuates y Cuetes,, ensuring that all can partake in this jubilant celebration of jazz and community spirit.
