A Puerto Vallarta resident with a rich background in restaurant, real estate, management and sales, has joined the staff of Out & About Puerto Vallarta (O&APV).
Gerwin Rutten, who is originally from the Netherlands and has been living in Puerto Vallarta since 2017, will bring his expertise in management, marketing and sales to area businesses as he joins the staff of O&APV. Rutten will take the helm as the new sales, marketing and events person working with clients to show them how to reach the lucrative LGBT market.
He’s lived in many places, including France, China and now Mexico. His love for Puerto Vallarta was at first sight. Prior to moving here, he visited this “paradise” – as he calls it -, for the first time about ten years ago and he kept coming back to PV every single year to visit.
Gerwin is a familiar face to many in Puerto Vallarta, having managed the restaurant, Azafran, for the past year. Back home in the Netherlands, he managed a business and conference center in Rotterdam. In France, he was a co-owner of a small boutique hotel and gastronomic restaurant in medieval town in the south of France. Similarly, in Amsterdam he’s had several management positions for hotels. Gerwin’s sizable expertise makes him capable to detect opportunities for businesses and leverage their full potential in order to succeed in today’s environment.
Among his many skills, Gerwin knows how to speak five languages: Dutch, English, French, German and Spanish.
Gerwin will be working along with the newly appointed editor Alejandro Chavez.
“With our new editor and new focus we are excited to have Gerwin onboard to be able to share his extensive experience with our clients,” explained Jerry Jones, O&APV publisher. “We are looking forward to introducing Gerwin and Alejandro to the community.”
