Presenting Sponsor of RISE Orphanage Talent Show
For over 18 years, PVRPV has integrated itself into the fabric of the Puerto Vallarta community, intertwining with the lives of many individuals and actively contributing to the community’s welfare.
It has continued that long-standing tradition to be the presenting sponsor of the talent show, “So, You Think You Can Rise?” (SYTYCR), as its way of showing support for the RISE orphanage, and for providing a showcase for local talent.
RISE (Refugio Infantil Santa Esperanza) is a non-profit shelter in Puerto Vallarta for children that has been operating since 2001. The talent show is a major fundraiser for RISE, and this is their third year. The first year the show raised just over $750,000 pesos; the second year they had set a goal of more than $1 million pesos. The money raised accounts for approximately ⅓ of the budget for RISE and is an integral part of their fundraising efforts. Which is why local support to help underwrite costs to produce the shows is necessary.
The grand finale of this season of SYTYCR will be held on Sunday, Feb. 18 at Teatro Vallarta at 7 p.m. where eight talented semi-finalists will vie for the coveted title and a chance to make their mark in Puerto Vallarta’s entertainment scene.
PVRPV is the largest locally owned and operated vacation rental company in Puerto Vallarta, and is owned by Tim Longpre & Agustin Rocha (Property Management and Rentals) and Tim Longpre, Agustin Rocha & Mich Garcia (real estate).
“For PVRPV and its team, RISE represents a symbol of hope and the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child,” explained Jamie Alexander, PVRPV’s business development director. “RISE is a home, refuge and sense of security for children that might otherwise have never had the chance to have that experience.”
Alexander said this was the second year that PVRPV had provided the title sponsorship.
“Our founder, Tim Longpre, was a child that grew up in the foster care system. Knowing first hand how one act of hope, one act of love and bringing up a child with care, can, and does make the difference in the life of a child,” Alexander said. “We knew of the challenges that an agency like RISE can have because of the lack of government funding. In addition, for the safety of the children, it is not easy to share the stories of these children through photos or videos. We want to be a part of telling the story for them. Telling the world around us that they need our support.”
PVRPV has approximately 100 employees, who they consider all to be important team members that help in the rental and real estate divisions of the company.
“Our dedication to make Puerto Vallarta a better place for the people we employ has been paramount since day one,” Alexander said. “We offer education, training, social security and above average wages for all our team. When we began we focused primarily on property management and rentals. As many of our property owners have told us, “There is no other company equipped to be able to handle all the obstacles that come with owning a property a foreign country like PVRPV.”
Through the years, owners asked us to sell their property or help them purchase a new property, so we became an AMPI certified real estate brokerage offering a unique perspective with almost 20 years experience in Puerto Vallarta.”
