The directors of the Facebook group Puerto Vallarta: Everything You Need or Want to Know announced the second edition of Sizzling Summer Menus.
The five-month gastronomic event will run from July 1 to Oct. 31, 2026, at various restaurants and hotels across Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas. Participating venues will offer discounted menu packages to drive business during the destination’s low season, while boosting promotion and raising hospitality standards across the region’s food and beverage industry.
Tricia Lyman, founder of the Puerto Vallarta: Everything You Need or Want to Know group, and Mory Thomas, editor-in-chief, announced the event details at a press conference held at ITA Restaurant, located at Viena 159 in the Diaz Ordaz neighborhood. They were joined by Chef Salvador Carrillo and Rod Negrete, director of event sponsor, Innova Gourmet.
Thomas explained that unlike other food festivals, Sizzling Summer Menus is “a comprehensive, long-term program designed to connect restaurants with diners, recognize good service and celebrate the dining experiences that make Puerto Vallarta one of Mexico’s most important culinary destinations.”
The event will feature regional restaurants offering mostly three-course menus, though establishments have the flexibility to offer different culinary experiences. Sizzling Summer Menus will also serve as a platform for establishments to evaluate and elevate their services, as diners will be encouraged to rate their experiences in areas such as service, atmosphere and food quality. Each participating establishment will set its own menu package price, which will be available alongside the menus on the website www.pveverything.com.
Based on these ratings, Sizzling Summer Menus will honor the six best restaurants at a special gala in November. The highest-rated establishment will receive the La Iguana de Oro Award, while the next five will be recognized as the Most Loved Restaurants of 2026. The top servers will be rewarded as Vallarta Hospitality Ambassadors, and diners who participate in the evaluations will be entered into a raffle to win prizes.
Registration is open for establishments wishing to participate in Sizzling Summer Menus 2026, with a deadline of June 25. The entry fee is $10,000 pesos.
The inaugural event in 2025 drew 22 participating restaurants, and organizers expect to consolidate a group of 60 to 70 participants this year from both Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas. They noted that the Facebook group Puerto Vallarta: Everything You Need or Want to Know currently has more than 190,000 members, offering strong promotional exposure.

Vallarta Taste Maker Community
Event organizers noted that another goal is community building. Businesses that participate and diners who visit the restaurants will become part of a community called Vallarta Taste Maker, powered by the digital platforms of Puerto Vallarta: Everything You Need or Want to Know.
“For nearly 12 years, our community has asked for trusted recommendations,” Lyman said. “Sizzling Summer Menus gives our members a fun way to discover new favorites, support local businesses and recognize the restaurants and professionals that make Puerto Vallarta’s hospitality truly special.”
