The Municipal Government of Puerto Vallarta, through the Department of Equity and Combating Inequality, has announced the results of the call for applications for the 2026 Diversity Council (Cabildo de la Diversidad). This marks the second generation of this citizen participation body, which focuses on proposing and advancing initiatives that benefit the city’s LGBTQI+ community.
In a press release, officials shared the names of the 16 selected members, who are expected to begin their activities on May 17, 2026, coinciding with the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia. The members of the second Diversity Council, in alphabetical order, are:

Local authorities expressed deep gratitude for the interest and commitment shown by the participants, recognizing their willingness to help build a more egalitarian, respectful, and discrimination-free society.
The first generation of this body recently presented its activity report, highlighting the approval of two of its proposals by the full City Council. Thanks to their efforts, the Diversity Council is now a mandatory fixture under local regulations, ensuring a new call for members will be issued every year.
