Vallarta favorite, Lady Zen returns to Incanto for a limited run and presents, Here to Stay, a tribute to the Tony Bennett Duets albums that featured Diana Krall, Lady Gaga and Amy Winehouse.
Joining Lady Zen is Fil Formicola, a jazz crooner with a voice reminiscent of male vocalists at the height of the rat pack era who dominated the airwaves in the 1950s. The show has three exclusive presentations, March 12, 15 and 19 at 7.30pm at Incanto Vallarta in the Piano Bar upstairs in the newly renovated and invigorated theater.
Incanto and The Palm will also host a private screening of What´s in a Name, a documentary film about the life of Lady Zen that has been sweeping awards in major film festivals around the world. Winning in Manila, Singapore, Canada, San Francisco, and New York just to name a few.
Tickets for this screening will be made available through the Incanto and The Palm website.
Lady Zen got their start in church. Soul, gospel, jazz and blues influence the timbre of their opera-disciplined voice. An academic poet, music composer and performance artist.
Lady Zen presents this tribute with great emotion and respect to the career of the legendary jazz singer and recalls that in 2016 the Grammy Award-winning producer Lorenzo Toppano invited her to record a duet with Tony Bennett. But due to health problems, Tony couldn’t do the duet with Lady Zen, which would surely be a delight to the ears.
For this reason, Lady was not left wanting to interpret Tony’s songs and give them the touch so characteristic of her.
In addition to her successful seasons at Incanto theater, Lady Zen performed in Puerto Vallarta at the Jazz Foundation, The Palm Cabaret, Nacho Daddy and Ella Cantina. She has also sung with the Gay Men’s Chorus of PV and participated in fundraising events for RISE and SETAC.
Here to Stay returns to Vallarta this great artist loved by everybody and with this show Lady Zen proves that legendary icon Tony Bennett is here to stay in our hearts and in our joy.
So remember to book for their shows at Incanto Vallarta and the exclusive presentation of her documentary at The Palm and Incanto.
