Days after the 14-day Emergency Button period of restrictions ended, Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro announced new measures related to hellp battle and control Covid-19.

During a press conference held on Monday, November 16, Alfaro said measures will be based on three components:

Territorial strategy
Monitoring of indicators
Co-responsibility.

The Governor went on to say:.

  • The towns of the state will be evaluated every 15 days to know that containment measures are being applied.
  • Tourist activities, shops, restaurants, return to normal with a capacity of 50% and respecting social distance.

Territorial strategy: they will be monitoring specific places in the state to apply measures corresponding to infections, the behavior of people, merchants, business owners, on how they are applying the aforementioned protocols.

Monitoring indicators: They will monitor the percentage of people hospitalized, and serious cases of coronavirus; number of cases that were active and are recovered and numbers are still active, with this they seek not to collapse the hospitals.

Co-responsibility: each person will be responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy environment, from work to home. Identify risk factors, not leaving aside the use of mask , hand sanitizer and social distancing.

“Telling you once again that the elements we have so far makes us maintain that the Emergency Button gave results; having made prevention our main weapon gives us room for maneuver. It is important to make it clear that the pandemic is not over yet, what we want now is to establish a work route that allows us to avoid a regrowth effect, and of course, learn to live by new rules, from a new normality and understand what those rules are and make them our own, we do not need the government to monitor our actions, we have to understand that it is up to us to be able to get out of all this faster,” said Governor Enrique Alfaro.

“Activities with a high concentration of people such as concerts, festivities and meetings that gather a significant number of people remain canceled. We are going to have the defined rules with the municipalities. Everyone has to do their part, “he announced.

In the case of Puerto Vallarta, he mentions “Puerto Vallarta has done very well and the measures have given us good results.”
