Grindr has released its annual report on its 2023 user behavior and trends, sharing insight into its user behaviors.
To create the gay year in review, unwrapped, the app compiled anonymous aggregated data from its global user base – and looks at data like the percentage of tops and bottoms and most popular profile tags to users’ favorite songs, films, and pop culture moments.
Grindr users were busy in 2023 – sending more than 100 billion chats, 13 billion taps, and 1 billion private albums.
Mexico did make one of the Grindr lists – pup and pup-lovers can be found the most in Latin American countries like Venezuela, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Colombia, and Mexico.

Grindr also surveyed more than 10,000 users on their top pop culture moments of 2023—from the ultimate gay gasp to the biggest babygirl. The resulting report provides a deeper look into global behavioral trends and all the tea on current events in the pop culture landscape.
The highest percentage of tops: Trinidad & Tobago, Kenya, China, Myanmar, and Greece.
The bottom up award goes to South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Denmark, and Finland.
The most versatile users can be found in Finland, Austria, Germany, Australia, and Hungary.
The highest percentage of sides is in Singapore, the Philippines, China, Kenya, and New Zealand.
The most explored cities (by using the app’s “Explore” feature) included London, Paris, Mexico City, Bogotá, and Manchester.
Cities that have the most active users are Thessaloniki, Milan, Rome, Turin, and Berlin.
