Before a crowd of more than 125 people, winners were revealed on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, for the 2023 First Annual We Are Puerto Vallarta Awards at El Granero.
Hosted by Jamie Alexander, from PVRPV, and Jessy Ruiz, from Asphalt Radio, announced the finalists of the 25 categories and then named the winner.
Winners received a beautiful award, sponsored and provided by PrintPV.com. Other sponsors included ThrIVe Med Spa, PVRPV and El Granero.
From eats to entertainment, the awards covered a wide range.
Pepe’s Taco took home the crown for Favorite Taco Stand, while Bonito Kitchen Bar emerged victorious in the Favorite Specialty Cuisine category. Joe Jack’s Fish Shack and Barcelona Tapas were recognized as the best in their respective categories.
The Palm Cabaret was named Favorite Performance Venue, while a slew of talented entertainers took home individual awards. Miss Conception and Diva Devine were celebrated as Favorite Drag Performers (Touring and Local, respectively), while Effie Passero and Kevin Anthony shone as Favorite Live Entertainers (Solo Show) in their respective genders.
La Noche and Industry Nightclub were recognized as Favorite Gay Bar and Favorite Ultra Club, while Garbo Piano Bar charmed the crowd as the Favorite Place to Get a Drink. Thirsty for a perfect martini? Look no further than Twisted Palms Rooftop Lounge.
For those seeking relaxation under the sun, Sapphire Ocean Club won Favorite Beach Day Club, while Ritmos Beach Club earned the title of Favorite Beach Club (Gay Oriented).
Bringing a touch of culture to the mix, Dante Gallery secured the award for Favorite Art Gallery, and Cassandra Shaw Jewelry was a dazzling favorite.
Beyond the categories, two special awards were presented. Tracy Parks was recognized as the Outstanding Business Owner/Manager, while Tricia Lyman’s contributions to the community earned her the Outstanding Individual honor.
The 1st Annual We Are Puerto Vallarta Awards served as a love letter to the people and places that make Puerto Vallarta a one-of-a-kind destination.
