Danyol León, also known as Tamale Ringwald, has become one of Puerto Vallarta’s most visible and dynamic contributors to the local community, earning a top-three finalist spot for Outstanding Individual for Contributions to the Community at the We Are Puerto Vallarta Awards 2026.
Known as a multi-disciplinary artist and entrepreneur, Danyol has left a distinct mark on the city through his creativity, activism and community-driven projects. His work spans murals, performance, events and business ventures, all rooted in a desire to bring people together.
One of his most impactful contributions is the transformation of the Amapas stairs. Through the “Amapas Ascent: Stairway Stories” project, Tamale led the artistic vision behind a large-scale public mural that turned a functional pathway into a vibrant cultural landmark. The project not only enhanced the visual identity of the neighborhood, but also reflected the stories, diversity and spirit of the community.

The effort was more than artistic. The revitalized stairs improved safety and accessibility in the area, creating a more welcoming corridor connecting residents, workers and visitors.
Beyond public art, Danyol’s influence extends into entertainment and tourism through ventures like Tamale’s Tours, an inclusive experience designed for “everybody and every body,” reflecting his commitment to creating spaces that celebrate diversity and connection.
Whether through murals, music, performance or community initiatives, Danyol consistently brings a sense of energy and intention to his work. His projects often blend art with accessibility, making creativity something that can be experienced in everyday spaces.
