Coco’s in Control: The Janet Jackson Experience, one of the most anticipated tribute shows of the spring starring international drag star and RuPaul’s Drag Race participant Coco Montrese, held its opening night at Coco Cabaret (Francisco I. Madero 289, Romantic Zone) on Friday night, April 3, 2026, before a sold-out audience.
With this show, Coco Montrese honors the incomparable Janet Jackson in a dazzling, high-energy celebration of the music, the moves, and the magic that shaped not only Coco’s career but inspired generations of young entertainers. With a curated selection of the chart-dominating #1 hits everyone knows, mixed with some hidden gems only the true fans live for; this show celebrates every era of Janet.
The production is presented by Go Deep No Sleep Productions, featuring creative direction by Jazzy (Montrese’s best friend and colleague) and choreography by Monterrey native Alex Baor. Baor also performs as part of the four-person dance troupe alongside Oswaldo Chacon, Rustriboy, and Manuel Alejandro Ibarra.
Accompanied by stunning visual effects, several costume changes, a unique narrative for each number, an aerial hoop performance, and a repertoire exploring every genre Jackson ventured into—from upbeat tracks to ballads including Control, That’s the Way Love Goes, I Get So Lonely, China Love, Throb, and Rhythm Nation—the cast mesmerized the audience, who gave them a standing ovation at the end of the night.
Coco’s in Control: The Janet Jackson Experience will perform on Fridays at 9 p.m. throughout the month of April. Tickets are available at the website www.coco-cabaret.com.
