303 couples of all genders were wed on the afternoon of Friday, March 27, 2026, at Los Arcos del Malecón. Part of the 2026 Collective Marriage campaign organized by the Puerto Vallarta Civil Registry, the event set a new record for the municipality. The couples shared a sunset ceremony witnessed by family, friends, and the community.
In this iconic setting, Mayor Luis Ernesto Munguía González acknowledged the trust placed in the campaign and highlighted the significance of the couples’ commitment.
“Thank you for trusting our government to witness [this moment] with the person you love most,” he expressed, wishing them success in their lives together.
The event’s godmother and president of the Municipal DIF System, Lucky Michel, emphasized that marriage is not only an act of love but also one of responsibility.
“It is about taking your marriage to another level—legalizing it,” she said.
Civil Registry official Luis Alemán noted that the day represented a milestone for the families involved.
“Today marks a memorable day… you become an example of unity, commitment, and respect,” he stated.
Among the standout stories were Ares Daniel Reyes and Luis Antonio Marín Herrera, who celebrated their same-sex marriage, and María de Lourdes Castillo Alemán and José Luis Rodríguez Ávila, who formalized their union after more than 15 years together.
The celebration concluded with a traditional toast, the cutting of the cake, live music, and a raffle for the newlyweds.
