Hundreds of couples of all identities and sexual orientations are preparing to unite their lives through the 2026 Mass Wedding campaign promoted by the Municipal Government, which will take place on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Los Arcos del Malecón. Local authorities announced during a press conference that the event will feature attractions such as gifts, live music, food, and hydration, in addition to the formal administrative ceremony.
The invitation is open to couples who have lived together in common-law unions for many years and have been unable to formalize their bond for various reasons, as well as newly formed couples who have decided to take this important step.
Civil Registry official Luis Alemán explained that the requirements have been simplified: official identification of the contracting parties and birth certificates. In the case of having children together, they must present the child or children’s birth certificates; if they do not have children, a premarital medical exam will be required, which will be provided free of charge by the Municipal Government as part of the campaign.

To facilitate the process, it was also announced that, by instruction of Mayor Luis Munguía, birth certificates will be issued free of cost, eliminating economic barriers for those wishing to participate.
Documentation must be submitted no later than March 13 at any of the Civil Registry offices. For more information regarding the process, please contact the Civil Registry offices at 322 223 2500 Ext. 1018.
Ramón Chávez, Community Building Manager, noted that this invitation is being promoted directly in local neighborhoods to ensure no one is left out and more couples can fulfill the dream of getting married at one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. “The intention is not only to celebrate a mass wedding but to provide legal certainty and strengthen Vallarta’s families,” he concluded.
