Viva Aerobus has announced it will serve as an official sponsor of the Vallarta Pride Parade, aligning the Mexican airline with one of Mexico’s most recognized LGBTQ+ festivals ahead of the celebration that will be held May 17–24, 2026.
The announcement was made during Tianguis Turístico 2026 in Acapulco, where Viva officials said the airline will help transport thousands of visitors expected to attend this year’s events in Puerto Vallarta. Organizers estimate more than 35,000 tourists from Mexico, the United States, Canada, Colombia, Spain, Finland, the Czech Republic, Australia and the United Kingdom will travel to the destination for Pride week activities.

Vallarta Pride has grown into one of Mexico’s most recognized LGBTQ+ festivals and a major international tourism event for Puerto Vallarta, featuring more than a week of cultural activities, entertainment, nightlife events and community gatherings across the city.
The celebration begins May 17, coinciding with the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, and continues through May 24. The festival’s signature Pride Parade is scheduled for 4 p.m. May 21 along the Malecón and downtown Puerto Vallarta streets, followed by block parties and performances in the Romantic Zone.
Other events scheduled throughout the week include the Pet Parade, Pink Dinner, Drag Derby, Diversity Gala, Rainbow Race and art and cultural exhibitions celebrating LGBTQ+ identity and inclusion.
Viva said in a press release the sponsorship reflects the airline’s continued support for diversity and LGBTQ+ inclusion. The company noted it has received the Human Rights Campaign Mexico certification as one of the country’s best LGBTQ+ workplaces for six consecutive years.
The airline currently offers direct service to Puerto Vallarta from several Mexican cities, including Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Tijuana and Toluca.
