Villa Sevilla: A World Within a Villa

Entering Villa Sevilla Guest House feels like stepping into another world—or perhaps several at once. While the name might suggest a traditional Spanish hacienda, the reality is far more complex. This vacation property for groups serves as a gallery of styles, artifacts, and art collected during three world tours by its owner, the local real estate broker Ron Morgan.

Enveloped by nature and accented by curated flora, the villa offers expansive views of the sea and mountains. The structure spans four levels and includes eight bedrooms, making it an ideal setting for groups of up to 16 guests.

I first explored Villa Sevilla alongside David de los Ríos and Mario Lara—real estate agents and property managers for Ron Morgan Properties—on a spring morning in 2026. As we finalized the details for the Gay+ Mixer held at the estate in late March, I noted the craftsmanship and care evident in every corner. It is easy to wonder about the many stories that have unfolded within these walls since Ron acquired the property over 16 years ago.

David, an architect and alumnus of the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes and former collaborator at the firm Spazio, pointed out the neoclassical elements integrated into the villa’s design. A resident of Puerto Vallarta since 2014 and a member of the real estate community since 2019, he joined the Ron Morgan Properties team in 2026. David highlighted the property’s strategic location. It sits in a quiet enclave yet remains close to the energy of the Romantic Zone and Los Muertos Beach. Additionally, it offers direct access to the highway leading to the rivers and coastal landscapes of the South Shore.

“And of course, another of its unique features is the dozens of antiques housed within the residence. Every corner invites appreciation,” mentioned David, who also has experience in interior design.

Mario, who is also an architect, graduated from the University of Monterrey (UDEM). He has experience building and selling houses in Texas and Coahuila, in northern Mexico, since 2006. He explained that Villa Sevilla is designed as an experiential destination for every kind of group visiting Puerto Vallarta. Whether it is an intimate wedding ceremony, a family retreat, a fun vacation with friends or an art workshop in a setting built for inspiration, the property adapts to various needs.

At Villa Sevilla, Mario oversees all guest relations and communications. “The villa is only rented in its entirety to ensure total privacy for groups. Our goal is to offer a unique and welcoming experience that guests can treasure for a long time,” he added.

A Global Journey

David and Mario, active members of Puerto Vallarta’s LGBTQ+ community, guided me through the estate with professional ease. In the foyer, the focal point is a nine-lamp chandelier with crystal droplets, positioned near a large vessel originating from the East. Adjacent to this, a large window overlooks a water feature framed by dense greenery.

Moving inward, guests find the living and dining area, which features a 12-seat dining room table. This open space faces the mountains, blurring the line between the interior and the landscape. Notable items in the lounge include a fireplace and a world globe with stone textures native to each nation. Nearby, a historical artifact hangs on the wall: a letter written by former Mexican President Porfirio Díaz dating back to the late nineteenth century.

Opposite the living area is a fully equipped kitchen, which follows a Mexican aesthetic characterized by blue tiles, wooden cabinetry, and ceramic plates displayed on the walls. This area leads to the exterior staircases that connect the main recreational zones. The upper path leads to a rooftop shaded by mature trees, featuring a plunge pool, lounge chairs, and sofas positioned for sunset views over the ocean. The lower stairs lead to the primary pool deck, furnished for group gatherings and relaxation.

Throughout the property, wall colors and textures shift, maintaining a palette of warm tones that complement the eclectic décor. The guest rooms feature sliding glass doors to maximize natural light and provide constant views of the surroundings. Inside, sculptures and a mix of abstract and figurative paintings integrate with the furniture styles. One of the primary suites includes a loft that functions as a private art gallery and accommodates an additional bed.
