More than 40,000 visitors attended the 13th edition of Vallarta Pride, held May 17-24 in Puerto Vallarta, according to organizers, who said the weeklong celebration highlighted LGBTIQ+ pride, activism, sexual health, art, culture and entertainment under the theme of “The Most Mexican Pride.”
In a post-event press release, the Vallarta Pride Organizing Committee thanked the 15 LGBTQ+ activist collectives that participated in this year’s festivities. The event was led by activist Juan Jacobo Hernández Chávez, founder of Mexico’s Homosexual Liberation Front and Homosexual Revolutionary Action Front, who served as the official ambassador for Vallarta Pride 2026. Activist Kenya Cuevas, a former Vallarta Pride ambassador in 2024, also participated in this year’s events.
Organizers said Vallarta Pride continues to play a major role in tourism promotion for Puerto Vallarta and the Zona Romántica, which they said is home to more than 170 LGBTQ+-focused businesses that generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs for local residents.
The Organizing Committee also recognized the support of the local and state governments. Organizers noted that backing from the state government has grown over the last three years through the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust—the public agency that manages the public revenue collected via the municipal lodging tax (ISH).
“Today, Vallarta Pride is one of the events with the greatest impact on room-night generation in the destination. This is thanks to the implementation of tourism promotion campaigns and strategies, such as the Block Party. With the support of state and municipal governments, this year’s party featured major artists committed to the community, including Fey, the ‘Queen of Mexican Electro-Pop’; Regional Mexican singer Jhonny Caz of Grupo Firme; and the renowned YouTuber and drag artist Turbulence,” the release stated.

According to the release, the 2026 Block Party drew over 40,000 attendees, who provided voluntary donations to benefit the Vallarta Gay+ Community Center—a local non-profit organization—as well as the organizations within the Vallarta Altruistic Network (Red Altruista Vallarta).
The organizers also announced that the 2026 edition of Vallarta Pride made donations to the humanitarian organization Vallarta Cares, the Horizonte de Paz addiction rehabilitation center, and the EDIN Foundation, which is dedicated to the workplace integration and personal development of individuals with special educational needs. Donations were also made to environmental collectives working for the conservation of endemic species, such as the military green macaw and the Puerto Vallarta mud turtle (tortuga casquito).
For their part, some of this year’s sponsoring companies included Almar Group, Grupo Garbo, Tryst Hotels, Villa Tita & Casitas, ETN Turistar, Gekko Rent-a-Car, Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa, The Westin Playa Vallarta, and the Mexican airline Viva Aerobus.
